Focus and Scope

The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities Review (JSSHR) is a peer-reviewed journal that is published quarterly by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Ruhuna. The main aim of the journal is to ensure the high-quality scientific research publication and open them up the access to the entire world. The journal provides a platform for scholars, academics, researchers and professionals to publish their scholarly work covering the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. The journal publishes articles written based on any aspects of theoretical, empirical or case-based research by highlighting recent developments in the respective academic discipline.

Financial Support

The journal is supported financially by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka.

Publication Frequency

The journal publishes four (4) issues per volume.


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. There is no embargo on the journal’s publications.

Authors of articles published remain the copyright holders and grant third parties the right to use, reproduce, and share the article according to the Creative Commons CC BY-ND license agreement.

There are no charges associated with the publication of artricles.


Archiving Policy

This journal is available for LOCKSS harvesting, to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. See LOCKSS harvesting start page.
